Food Resources

Grocery shopping and finding food can be difficult during the COVID-19 crisis. Below are some resources that can help you get the healthy food you need.  


Need Groceries?

Check out these  at the grocery store. If you’re sick, please stay home and have someone else shop for you or consider home delivery options like , , , ,  and more. 

Need Help Finding Food?

Use the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s   to find food pantries, soup kitchens, and mobile food distributions services. 

Have children under 18?

Find a , where you can pick up three days' worth of breakfast & lunch for every child in your home.  before you go, as locations and pickup times may change daily. 

Homebound?

If you’re homebound or in quarantine because you have COVID-19 symptoms, tested positive, or were exposed to someone sick with COVID-19, call 3-1-1 to request emergency food.

Over 60?

Contact the Department of Family and Support Services’ call center at 312-746-4016 (Monday through Friday) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for the Meals on Wheels Program and you will receive a weekly meal delivery of six meals to their home. Chicago Housing Authority (CHA) senior residents 60 and over can also contact CHA’s emergency services.

Disabled (18-59)?

Contact the Mayor’s Office of Peoples with Disabilities at 312-746-5773 (Monday through Friday) from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for access to home delivered meals. 

Want to enroll in SNAP and/or WIC benefits?

You can apply online for SNAP benefits . If you want to see if you qualify first, take this 3 minute .   the Greater Chicago Depository for help with the application process. 

If you’re pregnant or have a child under 5, call CDPH at 312-747-9140 WIC (Women Infants Children) to see if you are eligible for WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) benefits.
